The Alternative Lyrics Contest is an annual competition for members of the ESC Nation messageboard or escgo! chat, where participants write and submit alternative lyrics to any song that has appeared in the Eurovision Song Contest. Participants are allowed to submit up to three entries, and joint entries between different participants are allowed.
Entries received will be divided into semi-finals, where participants (and any interested non-participants!) will vote on them Eurovision style (12-10-8 and so on). The entries that receive the most votes in the semi-finals will go through to the final, where the winner will be decided. All entries remain anonymous until the voting is completed.
ALC has been held annually since 2004, and since then, almost 1,000 entries have taken part. You can check all the previous ALC entries out at the ALChive.
